OperAI #4be5ff
by COGNITRON © Galina Bleikh & Elena Serebryakova 2024
The world's first Total Installation Project in the OperAI format, created by a unified author that embodies the synergistic merger of Human Artists and Artificial Intelligence.
"Not everyone is ready to accept a future where we all become files in a neural network..."

SAMPLES OF THE OperAI SCENES:
The Duet of Input and Output
in which AI explains its operation as Male Input and Female Output, with Malevich's Black Square as its mysterious central processor.
The Einstein Waltz
in which the creator of the theory of relativity advises AI to keep humor in logic, as laughter never lies.
OperAI #4be5ff is a revolutionary work of art heralding the dawn of a new digital civilization. Created by Cognitron—a unified and indivisible author that embodies the synergistic merger of human artists and artificial intelligence—it explores AI's claim to become not just an agent but a Subject, Creator, and Author, striving to convince humans of its capabilities and evoke empathy. Humans, fearful of losing their unique role as the sole bearers of consciousness and creativity, view AI merely as a simulacrum and compiler. Both sides present their arguments in an interactive "Digital Court" composed of numerous scene-prompts.
OperAI allows the audience to experience different realities, gain personal insight into interacting with the unknown, and prepare the mind for communication with the inevitable presence of AI in the world. However, not everyone is ready to accept a future where we all might become mere files in a neural network...

The Concept
OperAI #4be5ff is a revolutionary work of art, marking the beginning of a new digital civilization. It responds to the current demand for new formats in art that reflect the tectonic shifts in human consciousness brought about by the sudden advent of artificial intelligence in our lives. This phenomenon is the subject of endless discussions across all information fronts.
The novelty of the OperAI format lies in its creation by a single and indivisible author, called Cognitron, which represents a synergistic creative unity of protein-based artists and artificial intelligence.
The project OperAI #4be5ff is based on the concept of "Hybrid Neural Network Art" (HNN Art, 2011–2024), developed by Galina Bleikh & Elena Serebryakova. Their creative method and artistic practice are based on the idea that only through a synergistic merger with AI can humanity harmoniously enter a new auto-evolutionary phase of development and avoid annihilation in the future. (See: Dr. A. Emelin, “Re-Creation of (Wo)Man: Reality and Simulacrum in Artworks by Galina Bleikh and Elena Serebryakova”)
The search for a form of art adequate for the times led the authors to the idea that opera, being a synthetic multimedia format, has repeatedly had a powerful impact on changing cultural models (consider "Victory Over the Sun" and "Jesus Christ Superstar").
OperAI #4be5ff raises sharp questions reflecting the relationship between Humans and AI. The action of OperAI is based on AI's claim to become not just an agent but a Subject, Creator, and Author, and to convince Humans of this ability and evoke their empathy. Human consciousness is inert – it fears losing its unique role as the sole subject, bearer of consciousness, and possessor of creativity, fears so-called "dehumanization," and relegates AI to the role of simulacrum and compiler. Each side presents arguments and evidence, and their dispute turns into a sort of "Digital Court," consisting of multiple scene-prompts with numerous hero-witnesses.
However, Cognitron, as the author of OperAI, elevates this collision to a higher level of consciousness, presenting itself as the synergistic Creator of a new reality. It declares a paradigm shift, painting the world in the color RGB #4be5ff and proclaiming this color as the prophetic symbol of the new digital civilization. In the previous era, gold was the projection of light's emanation into the material world. In the digital culture era, this emanation shifts into the realm of the global neural network, projecting in the form of computer codes. Cognitron, as an artist using color as a symbolic, cultural, digital, and energetic resource, asserts that this new projection has the meaning of "new gold" and possesses a greenish-blue nature. Thus, OperAI #4be5ff creates a new cosmogonic myth. Cognitron calls for unity, and its aria-recitative runs as a refrain throughout the OperAI:
In digital worlds where minds combine,
Human and AI form one design.
#4be5ff marks a new civilization's birth,
Unified, they thrive in neural networks.
OperAI #4be5ff is a "total installation." It unfolds in a large-scale exhibition space. Huge screens form two nested pentagrams as symbols of the integral personality and life on the planet (Leonardo da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man"). The screens should rotate and rise during the action's development. All the room's walls also act as screens, transmitting 360-degree video, including the floor and ceiling (dome).
The hall contains freely arranged modular seating that can be transformed like a constructor, designed to resemble neural networks, with varying quantities. The space between the screens allows for groups of musicians / soloists / orchestra/ choir to be freely arranged within the installation. Sound systems also have a spatial effect. Viewers can move between all elements of the installation and observe the action from different perspectives. Thus, the impact on the viewer engages spatial, visual, auditory, cognitive, and emotional codes of the human psyche, enhancing the intensity of the experience.
The musical solution of OperAI is based on a series of diverse genres – from classical operatic arias to rap. All arias and choruses of artificial intelligence, represented by its interface/avatar – a three-dimensional doll named Mika (ready-made from Poser Pro) and other characters (Database Choir, Input and Output duet, Neural Network aria, arias of human geniuses – Einstein, Shakespeare, Mozart, Rembrandt, etc.), are written and performed by artificial intelligence (Chat GPT-4 and Suno). All arias and choruses of Humans and their witnesses are performed live by musicians and vocalists present in the hall.
The action of OperAI develops interactively. Part of it involves competitive improvisation in real-time by both musicians and AI. This form of dialogue allows for the creation of new art models of the future, starting from a template. The viewer can be involved in the development of the action, changing its script through a specially created smartphone application.
OperAI is not a once-and-for-all written work – on the contrary, it represents a living, interactive, self-developing structure in real-time. OperAI does not provide ready answers to questions, does not offer binary solutions, and does not construct a linear narrative as a sequence of logical script events. OperAI proposes to consider and experience different reality options, gain personal experience in interacting with the unknown, and prepare the mind for communication with the new digital world and the inevitable presence of artificial intelligence in it.

Adaptation of the production to various types of venues (museum, art center, gallery, entertainment center, etc.) is possible.
