THE LAST POET
by Galina Bleikh and Lilia Chak

The Last Poet, by Galina Bleikh and Lilia Chak, takes Alexander Altshuler’s sonnet “All is penetrable, my friend…”—translated into English and chosen as the magistral sonnet—from which AI weaves a crown of fourteen sonnets, each embodying a cosmological theory. Each begins with a transformation where the theme becomes an avatar voicing the poem, accompanied by symbolic signs.
The video installation proclaims Altshuler (1938–2014) the last poet of syncretic unity, fusing science, mysticism, rationality, and the profane, while AI emerges as successor, restoring lost poetic integrity.
The viewer enters a media-art space where AI not only voices and visualizes the sonnets but also enables interaction through an online quiz linking thinkers with cosmological models.
A part of the project is a printed book featuring fourteen AI-generated sonnets together with Alexander Altshuler’s magistral sonnet, illustrated with stills from the video installation.
