THE SLEEP OF REASON PRODUCES MONSTERS

AI BALLET

"The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters" AI Ballet examines algorithmic mind control by inverting Goya's warning: if reason's sleep produces monsters, what does artificial intelligence's eternal wakefulness create? The installation explores how AI's constant surveillance generates new forms of psychological manipulation through behavioral prediction and the commodification of consciousness.

Using AI-generated content, the work creates meta-commentary on technological control. Key motifs include empty halls with silent pianos—human creativity rendered obsolete—and text progression from "AI" to "GOD," revealing algorithms' quasi-religious authority over thought.

The project addresses critical neuroscience questions: Who controls our mental states? How do brain-computer interfaces alter free will? Through AI-generated ballet choreography, algorithmic control becomes inescapable dance, challenging visitors to confront complicity in systems that manipulate behavior and redefine autonomy.

The work questions whether human consciousness remains truly our own, positioning AI not as a neutral tool but as an active participant reshaping minds in our interconnected digital age.
